Project Accountant-Gunter Construction

Gunter Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to support our project management team by overseeing project financials, billing, subcontractor compliance, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the financial and compliance requirements.
MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities
•Set up approved subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders in Foundation Software.
•Generate and process accurate monthly project billings.
•Manage subcontractor compliance, including insurance, bonds, lien waivers, and billing documentation.
•Investigate and reconcile unbilled project costs.
•Monitor project costs and assist with job cost tracking.
•Prepare and submit lien waivers for projects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
•Manage collections for assigned projects.
•Maintain accurate project files and financial records.
•Assist with project closeout, financial reporting, and compliance documentation.
•Collaborate with Project Managers, Accounting, and Operations to ensure project success.

Qualifications
Required
•Construction industry experience.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience.
•Experience with project accounting and job costing.
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
•Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
•Experience with subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and construction billing.
•Knowledge commercial construction accounting
