Gunter Construction is seeking a driven and experienced Construction Superintendent to lead heavy civil construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong planning, communication, and field management skills who can safely deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
•Lead daily field operations for heavy civil construction projects, including street rehabilitation, concrete paving, flatwork, dirt work, and municipal infrastructure.
•Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction from project startup through completion.
•Supervise field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
•Monitor project budgets, production, labor, materials, and equipment costs.
•Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules to keep projects on track and identify upcoming resource needs.
•Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
•Coordinate with Project Managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
•Conduct daily job-site inspections and weekly safety meetings while enforcing OSHA and company safety standards.
•Review daily reports, timecards, production quantities, and project documentation for accuracy.
•Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites while promoting accountability, teamwork, and quality craftsmanship.
Qualifications
Required
•Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil or concrete construction.
•Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or field leadership role.
•Proven experience managing projects involves:
o Street Rehabilitation
o Concrete Paving
o Flatwork
o Dirt Work
•Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and project schedules.
•Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and construction best practices.
•OSHA 30 Certification.
•Reliable transportation.
•Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
