Workforce
NUCA supports our chapters, organizations, and public events that promote industry career opportunities and share workforce recruitment and development programs in the broader industry. We are working to provide industry-specific vocational scholarships and create informational “Career Path Guides” for our industry.
We are also working to provide the tools and resources for members to attract and develop new entrants to the industry by improving the image of the industry and providing educational opportunities. In every American community, there are companies building water and wastewater infrastructure, many of which have unfilled jobs across every industry category. We will help our members attract new employees and get them started on building their community’s life-sustaining infrastructure.
Additionally, NUCA will work with public and private schools (K through 12), community colleges, apprenticeship programs, and continuing adult education programs to develop and distribute utility construction and excavation curriculum. Attending scholastic and industry events, meetings, and trade shows are also effective ways to spread the word about industry career opportunities.
