NUCA STAR PROGRAM

Safety Training Awareness Recognition

Untitled design-10

The STAR program (Safety, Training, Awareness, and Recognition) is designed to evaluate, update, and recognize a company’s safety practices to help reduce incidents and accidents. It focuses on four key areas: leadership, company culture, procedures, and records/data management. Each area is broken into subsections, with a point system ranging from 0 to 12 to assess compliance. Based on their total score, members can achieve one of five levels of NUCA STAR membership: Platinum (217-252 points), Gold (181-216 points), Silver (145-180 points), and Bronze (109-144 points). Platinum members must resubmit their application every three years to maintain their status.

To participate, members submit an application with supporting documentation, and the STAR Review Board evaluates it within 10 business days. There are no fees to participate, though donations to the Safety Ambassadors Club are encouraged. Members are recognized with a formal certificate and letter, and their achievements are shared at the Safety Damage Prevention Conference, on social media, and in NUCA publications. Once a member receives an award, they must wait a year before submitting a new application (unless they achieve Platinum status, which requires a re-application every three years).

Congratulations to these members on being awarded NUCA STAR status
